                                  UNDERSTANDING THE EXTINCTIONISTS

2. There are 7 Tribes of Extictionists: 

1. Not intelligent, or uneducated, or not well informed
2. Stubborn, adamant, recalcitrant
3. Hate the Evolutionary agenda
4. Cunning, competitive, manipulative, selfish, just want low taxes and small government 
5. Bullies, authoritarians, fascists
6. Religious fanatics
7. Criminals

                                           ENDING FOSSIL FUEL ADDICTION

3. Continuing the historic development of and dependence on fossil fuel production and use, the planet is now being driven to Environmental Collapse through Fossil Fuels:

• 1n 2022, the Adamant Alliance of Authoritarian Fossil Fuel Countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and Saudi Arabia (BRICS), have united to thwart world unification and evolution toward ECOCIVILIZATION.  
• BRICS and Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine, are destroying climate progress. 
• The oceans, atmosphere, and biosphere continue to deteriorate.

They use lobbying to sabotage Global Climate Treaty wording to end fossil fuel consumption while they increase: 

• Extraction:  Drilling and Mining 
• Transport:  Pipelines and Export Terminals 
• Combustion:  Coal and Gas Power Plants

4. Processes needed to end fossil fuel destruction of Earth    

• Declare the global climate and oceans emergency. 
• Confirm the fossil fuel emissions are hazardous, toxic pollution (per the US EPA).
• Fund legal suits against the fossil fuel industry.
• Stop subsidizing fossil fuel industries and support the development of affordable, renewable energy.
• End fossil fuel corporate externalizing costs of their environmental and health damage. Prohibit future discounting.
• Charge central polluters – without loopholes or exceptions – the full cost of pollution, which is at least $200 per ton.

                                                      BEYOND PLANET PLASTIC

5. True circularity for plastic is not about recycling. It’s a total rethink on how we go from our current model of take, make and waste to a new model of take, make and never throw away. True circular products do not have any waste; everything is captured and reused. We believe in the future of ‘refill and reuse’ as a major part of the solution to our waste crisis. Humans are the only living species on the planet who create waste.

• Plastic production will increase by 40% in the next 10 years. 
• If we don’t do anything about the plastic soup, oceans will carry more plastic than fish (by weight) by 2050. 
• Plastic is everywhere. Plastic pollution is not just plastic floating in the oceans, it is also in the water we drink, and the air we breathe. 
• The problem comes mainly from single-use plastic bottles, but not only. Single-use plastics and everyday items can get carried into the sea.
• Only five to six percent of plastic is recycled,                                     

                                          IMPROVING THE UNITED NATIONS

6. The United Nations has been disempowered by hard-to-solve problems: 

• Bureaucracy and employment-related focus of the staff, rather than mission focus.
• Political maneuvering and blocking progress for Earth and humanity through the veto power of the big 5 in the Security Council.
• The peacemaking mission is nullified, as all permanent members of the UN Security Council, and many other nations, sell weapons systems around the world, contributing to world wars. Their hypocrisy undermines the UN mission  "...to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war..." 
• Paying back political debt owed to the big 5 for being elected, hampering the Secretary-General's capacity to lead.
• Pervasive international espionage impacts the United Nations as spies operate throughout the UN, making it more difficult to build trust.
• Controversies can impact the morale of the UN as sex, money, and power intertwine, and muddle diplomacy. 
• Environmental duplicity exists as the United Nations sounds the alarm on climate change and calls for a dramatic reduction in fossil fuel consumption, while the United Nations Development Agency serves as a cheerleader for the oil and gas industry. Unlike the broader United Nations, the agency receives no dues from member nations. Its donations mostly come from governments and large international funds. UNDP puts pressure on development officers to find partners in their assigned countries, even when the donors work against their agency’s interests. The duplicity is damaging to the mission and morale of UN workers and NGOs. 
• The nation states ignore the input from the NGOs /civil society                                      

                                       WISOCRACY VS. TOTALITARIAN RULE

7. Wisocracy is the improvement of democracy, essential for humans to express their full potential.

• The institutions needed for democracy are: 

1. Free and fair elections 
2. Rule of law and a fair court system
3. Quality education for all
4. Free and accurate media

• Authoritarian governments are growing around the world. 
• The history of democratic decline is a history of demagogues and autocrats exploiting the openness of democratic cultures.
• They mobilize criminals, poorly educated, and hostile people, against the very institutions that sustain democracy itself.
• They cultivate followers who value power and money over integrity and truth. 
• They ignore the facts, justice, and wellbeing of humanity and nature.  
• Authoritarians cunningly and systematically cultivate their followers to distrust big government, be impatient with complexity, be filled with hate and outrage, and be armed with weapons to intimidate progressive-minded people who care about humanity and nature.   
• Wisocracy is based on funding better education systems for all, producing wiser people, capable of making informed decisions based on values of science and the common good.  
• The path to the next phase of evolution on Earth is through growing wiser people and creating a functional Earth Federation with an EcoCivilization 

                                      ECONOMICS FOR EARTH & HUMANITY

8. GDP - Gross Domestic Product is a useless indicator of national wellbeing.  It includes weapons sales, militarization, rebuilding from catastrophic devastation from climate change and war, expansion of fossil fuel production, privatization and expansion of prisons, and many other processes and services that harm people and nature.

9. Corporations must be made to internalize their currently externalized costs of social (health) and environmental damage and destruction before they count their profits and send out dividends to shareholders at the cost of the public and nature. 

10. There must be an end to subsidies to fossil fuel corporations amounting to nearly $6 TRILLION per year globally with taxpayers shouldering these costs.

11. We need Wellbeing Economy where public interests determine economics, not the other way around. Rather than pursuing economic growth through narrowly defined indicators such as GDP, a wellbeing economy monitors and values what truly matters: our health, nature, education, and communities. The purpose of the economy shifts from growth and profit to wellbeing of humanity and nature. 

12. We need a Circular Economy based on three simple principles: 

• Designing out waste and pollution
• Keeping products and materials in use
• Regenerating natural systems

13. We need to rapidly Bio-Regenerate Earth Systems and create an EcoCivilization.  This is a good organization working on Regeneration. See more below for bio-regeneration strategies.                        

                          MUTUALLY ASSURED SURVIVAL (M.A.S.) PROCESS

14. How militarism is beneficial for some: 

• It protects against enemies. 
• It is a self-perpetuating system, that employs many people who are then supportive of increased military budgets.
• It provides emotional themes and symbols for leaders to rally their followers to vote for them. 

15. How militarism is malevolent: 

• The military use up needed resources for human development, education, health care, housing, social stabilization, earth care, and infrastructure improvements to become a sustainable planet. 
• The military is one of the most environmentally destructive industries in the world.  
• A Humvee gets between four and eight miles per gallon; an F-35 requires 2.37 gallons per mile. 
• Armed forces create toxic waste every year in the form of depleted uranium, oil, jet fuels, pesticides, defoliants, lead, and other chemicals. 
• Military and civilian battle deaths occur in: 

1. State-based conflict (two nations).
2. Non-state conflicts (two or more organizations fighting). 
3. One-sided violence (one organized aggressor, such as genocidal violence).
4. Famine death due to conflict.

• The infrastructure of bridges, housing, hospitals, schools, and museums, cultural heritage, and the environment are destroyed in battle.
• Nuclear war will cause 5 billion famine deaths.  

16.  Mutually Assured Survival (MAS) recognizes the urgent need to work together to free our world of climate catastrophe, war, and the threat of nuclear annihilation.  We work for a peaceful, climate-safe world for all life.  It is achieved through: 

1. Trust Building & Peace Building 
2. Gradual Global Disarmament through 10% Military Expenditure Reduction Each Year
3.  Investments in Human Needs including:  Water, Food, Energy, Health, Housing, Education, Income & work, Political voice, Networks & community, Peace & justice, Gender equality, Social equity
4. Investments in Earth’s Needs including remediation of:  Climate change, Ocean acidification, Chemical pollution, Nitrogen & phosphorus loading, Freshwater withdrawals, Land conversion, Biodiversity loss, Air pollution, and Ozone layer depletion                

                     USING & INCREASING POWER FOR EARTH & HUMANITY

17. There is a gap between our great concern and our limited influence/power.
 

18. Power is the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events.
  

19. People use and combine 16 types of power: 

1. Physical power
2. Violence power
3. Financial power
4. Generosity power
5. Political power
6. Intellectual power
7. Knowledge-Wisdom power

10. Social power of reputation, relationships, and networks that may influence each other
11. Collaboration-Synergic power

20. How can we use our assets to grow our power to influence and save Earth? 

• Keep building our social networks.
• Use our heart, peace, knowledge, wisdom, creativity, and communication power.
• Clarify what could we use money to do, or improve.
• Understand how we can combine our networks to increase our influence and resources.
• Keep building our capacity for more money and power to gain political power for policies and programs.

21.  A form of "Creative power" is Non-Violent Civil Disobedience (NVCD) to disrupt social patterns, and gain the attention and sympathies of the general public. It was used by Mohandas Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.. and is being used by Extinction Rebellion. The following numbers are estimates: 

1. 25% of the public, 2 billion people of the world, "can't afford to care"  
2. 25%, 2 billion people "can almost afford to care, but don't care" 
3. 25%, 2 billion people "can afford to care, but don't care"
4. 25%, 2 billion people "can afford to care, and do care"

Extinction Rebellion can also increase public awareness and caring about Bio-Regeneration Strategies.

                                            BIO-REGENERATION STRATEGIES

22. To Regenerate Earth we need to educate the public about:

1. Preservation of natural habitats
2. Preservation of forests
3. Curb meat eating to reduce methane (CH4)
4. End fossil fuels to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2)
5. Use agricultural methods to reduce nitrous oxide (N2O)
6. Plastic reduction
7. Ocean clean up
8. Support renewable energy strategies (solar, wind, geothermal) 
9. New, more efficient electric grids
10. Efficient, affordable electric cars
11. Public transportation
12. Affordable heat pumps for home heating
13. Capturing data center heat for community use
14. Ending war and militarization that adds massive CO2

                                                        EARTH FEDERATION

23. We need Global Governance to address international problems of: 

1. War, crime, corruption, and environmental disasters driving global migration, causing reactionary violence in arrival countries. 
2. Global tax evasion in tax havens. 
3. Corporate destruction of the environment. 

24. We need urgent Systemic & Institutional Improvement:

1. United Nations Security Council member requirement to end their competitive, profit-making international weapons sales. We need global regulation of arms sales. 
2. Ceaseless dynamic peace negotiation to stop and prevent war. 
3. Revision of the Investor-State Settlement System to protect the rights of workers, the public, and the environment against profiteering on the suffering of people and nature.  
4. World Court - International Court of Justice (ICJ) universal membership and strengthening.
5. International Criminal Court (ICC) universal membership and strengthening.
6. World Climate Court creation to eliminate Ecocide and sue corporations and nations for destroying the oceans, the atmosphere, and the biosphere of Earth.
